UK highlights - Global leadership forecast 2011 - Research Study

In a recent research study from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and Development Dimensions International titled “UK highlights - Global leadership forecast 2011”, Change Management was identified as a critical leadership skill;

Change management and strategy execution are critical leadership skills

The survey asked leaders what the “most critical” leadership skills were in the past three years, the top three being 'driving and managing change', 'executing organisational strategy', and 'coaching and developing others'.

Looking towards the next three years, the top three critical skills are seen as 'driving and managing change', 'making difficult decisions', and 'executing organisational strategy'.

Workshops and coaching are most effective leadership development methods

The survey identified two methods which were rated as the “most effective” leadership development methods: “formal workshops” (including training courses and seminars), and “coaching (managers as coaches, as well as other internal and external mentors)”.
